Bundi is a city in the Hadoti region of Rajasthan state in northwest India. It is of particular architectural note for its ornate forts, palaces, and stepwell reservoirs known as baoris. The town of Bundi is situated 36 km from Kota and 206 km from Jaipur. It is located at 25.44° N 75.64° E[1] and an average elevation of 268 metres (879 feet). Bundi and the eponymous princely state are said to derive their names from a former Meena king called Bunda Meena. |

Taragarh Fort, which was built in 1354, is the most famous attraction of Bundi. The Bundi Palace that is famous for its Chitrashala, which is decorated with Fresco Paintings (special permission required to see other parts of palace). A 46 m deep stepwell, which was built in 1699 by Rani Nathavatji is one of the largest examples of its kind in Rajasthan. Artificial lake called the Nawal Sagar is also one of the famous attractions of Bundi. |
